Review:

Really liked this story. The characters had great chemistry and you could relate to them very easily. The author changes POV sometimes in the middle of the story so you have to pay very close attention. It switches from present view to past tense so you can relate to the present by knowing what had happened in the past. Excited to see what this series has to offer.

Review:

Short story. Tells of Jack's and Ramsey's view of when they first met Lexi. It is really good to be able to hear the guy's side of the story. I still kind of dislike Jack because of how he has treated Lexi, even if she is partly to blame, but after hearing what he was going through; you feel a little sympathy for him. I still haven't made my mind up about Ramsey yet. I'm currently reading Avoiding Responsibility so maybe I can make a better assessment about him in this book. I really hope Lexi comes to her senses about Jack and gets over him once and for all...even if it isn't with Ramsey.

Book Two: Avoiding Responsibility

Synopsis:

Just when she is starting to figure it out with him, her world is tilted once again with a phone call from none other than Ramsey Bridges. The wedding she had evaded at all costs. But no matter what she does, Lexi can't seem to escape her past with Jack. But does she really want to?
Despite the explosive chemistry between Lexi and Ramsey, she is skeptical about trusting him after everything that has happened. When things are amiss with him, she starts questioning his motives. Can Ramsey be the one to remove Jack from Lexi's life permanently or should she move on with her blossoming new life?

Review:

What do I say about this book? I'm not even sure where to begin. I feel for Lexi. I know she is having a hard time with her relationships, but then again I just want to slap her around. I don't understand how these men can have such a pull on her, but again, I've never been in her situation before. I'm not a fan of Jack AT ALL. He seems very sexy and compelling, but after what he did to her, not just once, but multiple times; I have a hard time having any good feelings toward him. Ramsey seems like a decent guy and I know that Jack has warped Lexi so much that she has a hard time with trust. I really hope that everything works out for the best between Ramsey and Lexi. I also kind of wanted to see Lexi end up with her Mystery Man. The entire book I had a feeling of who it might be, but it kept switching throughout the book until he was finally revealed. It seemed like she could of had a good life with him also. I'm still not a fan of the jumping from present to past, but I guess it needs to be done to know what is going on in the present story. Ready to find out what happens in the final book. Will be starting it shortly.

Review:

Not really into this book. I mean I like Chyna and Adam, but don't really care about how their relationship. I'm more concerned with Lexi, Ramsey, and Jack. That is what this series is really about. It's cool to have another story, but I think it could have done well without it. I've started the book, but haven't quite finished it. I don't know if I will. I may just skip it and go straight into Avoiding Temptation. I'm ready to find out how Ramsey and Lexi are doing since the wedding.

Book Three: Avoiding Temptation

Synopsis:

Two years after walking out of Jack’s wedding, Lexi has finally put her past behind her. She has made up her mind about where her life is headed. This time, she is sticking to her guns, no matter what.
That is, until a phone call shatters the fragile grasp she has on her new life. Lexi is forced to question everything she thought she knew about what she wanted, and life-changing events push her to reevaluate the very plans she holds so dear. Nevertheless, Lexi has to choose her true path. That might just mean deciding, once and for all, that she doesn’t have to answer to anyone but herself.
In this highly anticipated final installment of the bestselling Avoiding series, follow Lexi as she juggles a new career, a new city, and the burgeoning affections of three very different men.

Review:

This book wasn't at all what I expected it to be about. I definitely thought it would have more erotic scenes but it didn't; which isn't a bad thing, just not what I was expecting when I read the synopsis and saw the cover of the book. This book is about a girl, Kallisto aka Kalli, who was sexually assaulted as a young girl by one of her mom's boyfriends. She has never really gotten over how she felt after that and has never been able to be alone with a guy in a room. This is why she chooses to have sex with guys in public places. She knows there is a chance that she could get caught and it can never turn how horribly wrong. She has grown up with Nate and Scout as her best friends. Never really thinking of Nate as much more than that. Yes, they make out sometimes when they are drunk, but it has never led to anything else until one night when they make the bet. Kalli ends up winning the bet, but it may come at a cost she isn't willing to pay. When she finally realizes that what she feels for Nate is more than friendship, she does the one thing she has always down and messes it up. She doesn't know why she does it, but then she starts to realize she has no reason to fear being with Nate. She has always loved Nate.
This story didn't go the way I had expected it to go from everything I had seen about it, but it was still a good read. I'm interested to see what else the series will have to offer. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this story though. I don't think I was blown away by it, but I didn't hate it. Like I said, I think I have to see where the series will go to know how I truly feel about it all.

Other Books in series have not been released and not sure what the names are. Will update when more information is known.

Review:

I loved how this story touched based on a serious problem that not many people are willing to discuss...abuse. Whether it be physical, mental, or emotional...in this case physical and emotional. Mia had only ever known abuse. It was what she was used to. Thinking her mother died in a car accident when she was just a baby; she had to endure a life of constant beatings by the only parent she ever knew. When he died, she was relieved, but only for a short amount of time. She met a boy who was just like her father. She wanted to break the cycle and finally found the courage to run away from Forbes. She meets Jordan and she knows she shouldn't be attracted to him, but she seems drawn to him. And him to her. Mia is trying to find a life she thought would never exist...her birth mother...who gave her up. She ends up falling for Jordan, but then he drops the biggest bomb possible.
I definitely loved this story and all the romance and drama. I was drawn to the characters and their chemistry together. I laughed at times, got angry, and cried my eyes out. I would definitely recommend reading this book. Look forward to other books by this author.

Cassia Leo: Relentless

Cassia Leo

Series: Shattered Hearts

Book One: Relentless

Synopsis:

"Sometimes letting someone go is the ultimate act of love."

Claire Nixon is a college student with a past full of secrets and heartbreak.

At seven years old, the death of her mother by drug overdose destroys her faith in humanity and herself as she is tossed from one foster home to another. Feeling unwanted and disposable, she fights to keep herself safe in the system. Until, at the age of fifteen, she is saved by her first love, and soon-to-be rock star, Chris Knight and his mother, who quickly becomes the mother she always wanted.

When Claire encourages Chris to leave town to pursue his dreams of musical stardom, both Claire and Chris don't realize this will be the biggest mistake of their lives.

One year after Chris leaves on tour, Claire has carved out a new life for herself in a new city far away from the life she left behind with Chris. On a fateful morning, she meets sexy surfer Adam Parker.

To Claire, Adam is just another flirty customer at the cafe, until a chance encounter and seemingly innocent comment spurs a bet between them. The bet is simple: If Adam can get Claire to reveal the secret that made her drop out of college and leave her life behind, she has to re-enroll. If he doesn't succeed, she gets to keep her secret and he has to stop stalking her at the cafe.

Claire thinks she has this one in the bag. She's perfected the art of forgetting her past. But she isn't prepared for Adam's relentless pursuit or for him to share his own secrets. And she's definitely not prepared for the love of her life, Chris Knight, and her secret, to come banging down her door one year later.

Review:

Was drawn in by this book from the beginning. It touches bases on some serious issues such as substance abuse, addiction, and anger management. All of these we see in everyday life. Very touching story. Her secret is not one that I was expecting which I loved. I'm torn already between the two males leads in this story. Claire has a tough decision on her hands that I'm not sure I would be able to make. Each man has a strong hold of her heart. I'm excited to see where this story will lead to and who Claire will pick, what obstacles she will have to face, and how each man will respond to the things that happen.

Book Two: Pieces of You

Synopsis:

"Sometimes, the lies we tell ourselves are more destructive than the truth we hide from others."
