Review:

Vampires have been done to death it seems, but this story was very unique and captured me from the first chapter. A perfect mix of mystery, sex appeal, romance, and fantasy. Definitely a book series that you will be able to read over and over again.

Book Two: A Shade of Blood

Synopsis:

When Sofia Claremont was kidnapped to a sunless island, uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet, she believed she'd forever be a captive of its dark ruler, Derek Novak.
Now, after months of surviving an endless night, the morning sun may soon rise again for Sofia. Something has possessed Derek's heart and he offers her a gift no human slave has ever been given in the history of his cursed island: escape.
High school, prom and a chance to move on with her life now await her.
But will she be able to forget the horrors that steal her sleep away at night? ... or the feelings that haunt her for that tormented prince of darkness?

Review:

A great sequel to the first book A Shade of Vampire. Begins right where the first one left off without missing a beat. Continues on for a great story about a vampire being able to fall in love with a human. So much so that he is willing to risk his position to set her free. I love how this romance is blossoming and excited to see where it will go.

Book Three: A Castle of Sand

Synopsis:

What Sofia has with Derek feels like a sandcastle; temporary and something that the waves of life and time will soon ruin...
Since the return of Gregor Novak, the island has turned several shades darker. His hatred toward Sofia and thirst for fresh blood lead to a brutal war igniting between father and son.
Meanwhile, the hunters are gaining formidable strength and resources by the day; they know that the safety of The Shade hangs entirely on its ability to remain hidden from them.
And a sinister secret lies in wait for Sofia within the bowels of an Egyptian desert ... a secret that threatens to crush her sandcastle much sooner than she could have expected.

Review:

Love how many twists and turns there are in this book. It keeps you guessing what will happen next. Can love prevail in a world that is surrounded by darkness? You are becoming so attached to the characters that you just want the best for them except for those evil ones that you wish would meet the Sun and burn to ash. :) Keep up the amazing work Bella Forrest. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Book Four: A Shadow of Light

Synopsis:

Since the implosion at The Oasis and Derek's stay at Hawk Headquarters, The Shade has fallen into a state of utter chaos. To make matters worse, the citizens of Derek's kingdom have become suspicious of his loyalties and accuse him of siding with the enemy... At a time when Derek desperately needs full cooperation from his subjects, they wish to put their own King on trial.
Meanwhile, Sofia is being held hostage by the hunters. They are determined to rid her of her infatuation with the vampire. She submits to the strict routine and training they impose on her, but the only fuel that keeps her going is the thought of reuniting with Derek - something Reuben is fighting with every fiber of his being to ensure will never happen.
...Until one day, out of the blue, Reuben appears to have a change of heart and comes to Sofia with a proposal; a solution that she never dreamed possible. A solution that would fulfil her heart's deepest desires and secure her and Derek's future together, forever.
But can she really trust this man who is so renowned for his hatred of vampires? Does she even have a choice?

Review:

Like the other three books in this series, I was not able to put it down until I reached the last page. It was a complete page turner. I was so excited to find out what was going to happen next. It is such a great story and you can really relate to the characters.

Book Five: A Blaze of Sun

Synopsis:

Welcome back to The Shade...
"Of course you know who I am. I'm a daughter of the darkness just as surely as you are his son..."

Ever since his brief encounter with Emilia at The Shade, Derek's thoughts and dreams have been haunted with images of the mysterious, beautiful brunette. Plagued with guilt, he struggles to understand why he is so drawn to this dark stranger from his past.

Becca Fitzpatrick: Hush Hush, Crescendo, Silence, and Finale

Becca Fitzpatrick

Series: Hush, Hush

Book One: Hush, Hush

Synopsis:

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Review:

This book was recommended to me by Amazon because I had read the Fallen series by Lauren Kate. This book was just absolutely amazing!! I loved all the characters and the story line. I wasn't able to put the book down and then when I was finished I purchased the rest of the series so I could finish it just as fast.

Book Two: Crescendo

Synopsis:

Despite starting a relationship with Patch, her guardian angel (whose title is the only angelic thing about him), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking good for Nora Grey. Aside from fearing her boyfriend is interested in her nemesis, Nora is haunted by images of her father and becomes obsessed with understanding his disappearance. As Nora delves into the mystery of her father’s death, she begins to wonder whether her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it. And since Patch isn’t answering her questions, Nora has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch—or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

Review:

A very exciting book that keeps you wanting to figure out what happens next. Still loving the characters and the new ones that are introduced.

Book Three: Silence

Synopsis:

Nora Grey can’t remember the past five months of her life. After the initial shock of waking up in a cemetery and being told that she has been inexplicably missing for weeks, she tries to get her life back on track. So she goes to school, hangs with her best friend, Vee, and dodges her mom’s creepy new boyfriend.
But there is this voice in the back of her head, an idea that she can almost reach out and touch. Visions of angel wings and unearthly creatures that have nothing to do with the life she knows. And an unshakable feeling that a part of her is missing.
Then Nora crosses paths with a sexy stranger, with whom she feels a mesmerizing connection. He seems to hold all the answers...and her heart. Every minute she spends with him feels more and more intense until she realizes she could be falling in love. Again.

Review:

Who doesn't love a romantic story about a girl who forgets her past and is drawn to the man she loves for some unexplainable reason? That's what I though, everyone does! There is a lot of danger, action, plot twists, and of course romance.

Book Four: Finale

Synopsis:

Nora is more certain than ever that she is in love with Patch. Fallen angel or no, he is the one for her. Her heritage and destiny may mean they are fated to be enemies, but there is no turning her back on him. Now Nora and Patch must gather their strength to face one last, perilous trial. Old enemies return, new enemies are made, and a friend’s ultimate betrayal threatens the peace Patch and Nora so desperately want. The battle lines are drawn—but which sides are they on? And in the end, are there some obstacles even love can’t conquer?

Review:

The finale to an amazing series by Becca Fitzpatrick. I was so sad to see this series end because I had fallen so in love with Patch and Nora. It had a wonderful romantic and unrequited love story and a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end!!  Very happy with this series and can't wait to read more from Becca.

October 10, 2012
Review:
At first I was a little worried to be reading a pirate book. I'm not a big fan of them (expect for Pirates of the Caribbean, but who isn't right?). Anyways, I had already read one series from this author and like it so I didn't to take a chance on this one. When I started it, I was automatically drawn it. It had great chemistry between the characters with such raw sexual passion. It was unbelievable. I loved how she brought pirates and princesses to modern-day. That was quite unique. I felt all the emotions that the author was trying to portray in the book with the characters. I just loved this book and I am excited to have finished the rest of the series.

When the pirates contact her and tell her they will kill her daughter if she doesn’t bring them the treasure, will she betray Jax’s trust and his crew to save her child?

Review:

Roller coaster of emotions. Humor, sex, anger... all bottled up in one amazing book. There were times when I was asking myself "Really? Why would you do that?", but then again if I was in certain situations you never know what you would do. I really enjoyed this book and still love the amazing characters (new and old).

Book Three: Vengeance

Synopsis:

About My Reviews

I thought I would explain how I type up my reviews that way there will be no questions down the road.
All my reviews will be posted here on my Blog, Amazon, and GoodReads.

The title of the post is Author's Name: Title of Book or Books in a Series
If I have been reading a series by an author I will put all the books I have read so far in the title.
Example: If I have only read one book in the series only that book name will be in the title, but the other two books will be listed down below.

Series Name
If the book is part of a series, I will announce here what the name of that series is.

Book Name
If it is part of a series, I will put Book Number: Book Name.
Otherwise, it is just the name of the book.

Synopsis:
I get my synopsis from Amazon. I do not want to try and summarize the book myself, so I rely on what Amazon has posted on their site as a synopsis.
I will also use what Amazon says is the publication date. That way you know how new or old the book is.

Review:
Here is where I type in my review of the book.
I usually try to keep everything positive. I know the author's work really hard on their books and I don't want to feel like I am bashing them. I will leave some comments if I wasn't 100% satisfied with the book, but never anything entirely too harsh.

All books in a series will be on one review. If I have not finished the series, once I finish a book within it, I will update the post. I do not want several different blogs about the same author and series.
Each blog will be about an author and series or stand alone book.
If I have read several stand alone books by a single author; they will each have their own blog.
If I have read several series by a single author; each series will have their own blog.

I hope this clarifies any questions about my blog.

Review:

Sabrina had a bad go around in high school with love. She thought the guy she loved was the one that she would spend the rest of her life with  until one fateful night, she catches him with her "best friend". She runs into a guy that helps her pick up her pride and decides to leave right after graduation. She never really explained to anyone why her and her boyfriend broke up. It was just too hard. Now it is ten years later and time for her high school reunion. She doesn't really want to go because she doesn't want to see her ex- boyfriend and ex-best friend. Her new best friend encourages her to go and face everything that has happen. Get some closure for herself finally and possibly run into Mr. Mysterious Tyler.
Great interactions between the characters and how the story played out.
I'm not a fan of cheating and don't understand how someone can take someone back after that, but I am glad that they were able to have their happily ever after.

Anna Cruise: It Was You

Anna Cruise

Series: Abby and West

Book One: It Was You

Synopsis:

*Due to adult themes and sexual content, this book is recommended for mature readers.*
Abby Sellers knows what she wants.
Enduring eighteen years in the shadow of her identical twin sister, Annika, she wants a fresh start. A chance to create her own life, separate from her conniving, deceptive twin.
Surprising both her family and friends, Abby ditches her plans for college and enrolls at a new school instead. There, she encounters West Montgomery, a sexy fellow student who immediately disarms her with his good looks and charm. West takes a liking to Abby and she suddenly finds herself walking a thin line, fabricating a fictional life created not by lies but by omission. She soon discovers West has secrets of his own, secrets that he's not altogether interested in sharing.
Out from under the shadow of her twin, Abby's life—and her relationship with West—blossoms. When Abby leaves town one weekend, something unthinkable happens and her relationship with West is shattered. Reeling from the discovery, Abby fears all of her plans have backfired and she's created a mess for both of them, a mess that no one can clean up.
But West isn't willing to let her go that easily. When he forces her to confront secrets they've both been hiding, Abby must decide more than if she's willing to forgive and forget. She must also decide just what kind of life she wants...and who she wants to live it with.
November 17, 2013

Review:

An amazing story.
You always think that twins are suppose to love each other and get along. That is not the case with Abby and Annika. Abby has always lived in Annika's shadow and she is ready to burst out of that shell. She ditches her plans for college and goes to a different school instead. At this school she meets West. She decides she wants to try and live a life where people don't know her mother or her sister, so she omits some things from West. She doesn't think that it will really it will make a big difference. Boy was she wrong!
I think if this book teaches you anything, it's that even omitting partial truths is a lie and it can get ugly pretty quickly.
Great story and amazing characters.

Book Two: It Was Me

Synopsis:

All West Montgomery wanted was a vacation. A week-long stay in Tucson with Abby and her parents, a chance to get away for the week, the opportunity to get to know her family a little better and maybe carve out a little alone time with his girlfriend.
What he doesn't count on is finding a way to resume his baseball career.
Encouraged by Abby and her father to attend a MLB open tryout, West discovers that he can still play ball—well—and he suddenly becomes the hottest commodity on the field. Overwhelmed with offers and possibilities, West knows that whatever choice he makes will affect more than his baseball career. It will affect his future with Abby.
Professional baseball was always his dream, but Abby was a new dream come true. He doesn't want to choose between them, but in order to fulfill one of those dreams, West will have to.
Because he knows it's all on him.
