Review:

When I started this book, I had a feeling she was going to end up with the landlord. Turns out I was right. It was a very hot and steamy story. I have grown a little tired of the girl getting pregnant right away after falling in love, but this story put some pretty good twists into the story. At times I felt like Layla was being a brat, but I guess when you can't seem to trust your heart and have never really had a good relationship (or one at all) then you wouldn't know how to act. Chase and his brothers seemed like all great guys except for the fact that they would touch any woman that would come with a crook of their finger. With all that being said, I did love the characters. They all got along well together and had great chemistry. The writing was thought out well and the story was good.

Book Two: Kade

Synopsis:

You met Kade and Nikki in "Chase". Now it’s time for their story.Nikki works hard and plays even harder. A fan of no attachment type relationships, Nikki is nowhere near ready to settle down or commit to one man. What she doesn’t expect is Kade. A one night stand she can’t quite shake, Kade is a ladies’ man and the brother in law of her best friend. Will she be able to resist him? Or will Nikki take a chance on love with a notorious player? After making a promise years ago to his now fallen best friend, Kade swore he would take care of Ashley. But what happens when Ashley has an agenda of her own? Will Kade let his promise to his best friend ruin things with the love of his life?

Review:

Kade was one of my favorites when I read the story of Chase and Layla. I loved his laid back and humerous attitude. He was a little on the disturbing side with the whole sharing girls with his brothers thing, but I can look past that. I didn't understand why Nikki would be upset with Kade with having other relationships when they weren't together. I know she was trying to protect her heart, but you can't judge others by someone else's mistakes. Even if Kade seems like the type to not want a serious relationship. I also can't believe that Kade couldn't see how Ashley really was with him. If you have MULTIPLE people telling you that she has feelings for you; don't you think you should take that into consideration and maybe believe them. I loved how this story turned out and all the characters that were in it. It had some really steamy scenes that had you fanning yourself. Excited to read about the other characters romances.

Review:

An amazing story about loss, romance, and surfing. I'm not going to lie, the reason I bought this book was because of the hot dude on the cover. i was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be a really good read also. I didn't think I would enjoy a book about surfing (I know absolutely nothing about it except the guys are usually hot). The characters were very well planned out and had great chemistry together. The steamy scenes were too bad either. It's also a really great advantage to be able to hear from the male's POV. Very rarely do author's write from their view. It gives the reader that much more insight into the characters. I was truly impressed with this book and excited to see what else Anna has to offer.

Review:

You have a whirlwind romance, mystery, and suspense. From the beginning I was captivated by both characters. I'm a big sucker for the bulldozing type alpha males. There is just something about a dominating man that doesn't take no for an answer. I love how this book keeps you guessing. Just when you think you know how things are going to end up, Lisa will throw another twist into the story. There is a huge amount of angst and romance in this book. You can't help but get sucked into the world that is Liam and Amy. Ready for the next part to find out what happens. There is a huge cliffhanger that is kind of pissing me off, but I already bought the book and will get right to reading it.

Book Two: Infinite Possibilities

Review:

I was very excited to start reading this book. It didn't turn out the way I had hoped, but it was still a very good book. There were some parts that had me balling my eyes out and others that had me wanting to chunk my Kindle across the room (which I didn't do because I have an unhealthy relationship with it). I'm glad that everything seems to have turned out for the better, but I hate the epilogue. I wish we were able to figure it out in this book, but I guess we will have to wait for Forsaken to know about a certain someone. I hope the next book will give us an insight on what will happen next for Amy and Liam. Excited to see where their romance will lead.

Lauren Blakely: The Start of Us and The Thrill of It

Lauren Blakely

Series: No Regrets

Book One: The Start of Us

Synopsis:

I only wanted a tattoo. A mark on my body to remind me of who I used to be. Something to hold onto when I started my penance for all the things I'd done wrong, the bad choices I'd made by the time I turned nineteen. Instead, I found a night of possibility, of truth, of hope for the future. And the most intense physical connection I've ever had.
The only one I've ever had, and one I will never forget.
Trey...
When she walked into my tattoo shop, I knew she was like me. Harley had secrets. She had a messed-up past, and things she wanted to run from, or forget ever happened. I couldn't let her go. So we agreed on one night - to spend it together wandering around the city, getting to know each other, the clock ticking because we knew tomorrow would bring an end to the possibility of an us.
Unless tonight was only the start.
How can one night be the start of something when tomorrow it has to end?

November 25, 2013

Review:

This is a very short story about the night that Harley meets Trey. I read The Thrill of It first and it seemed in that book that there was more to it then what this book describes. I understand that it was only one night, but it seemed like there was more to the story than what was said. With that being said, it was still a great story. I loved how they had that instant connection. Everybody has demons that they have to face and it was exciting to read how these two were dealing with theirs.

Book Two: The Thrill of It

Synopsis:

Some say love can be an addiction. Others say it's the thing that makes life worth living. Let me tell you everything I know about love...Love isn't patient, love isn't kind. Love is a game, a chase. A thrill. Love is wild and war-like, and every man and woman must fight for themselves. At least that's how it was for me. A high-priced virgin call girl by the time I started college, I was addicted to love and to sex. Even though I've never had either. I controlled love, played it, and held the world in the palm of my hands. Then I fell down from those highs, and I'm being blackmailed for all my mistakes, forced to keep secrets from everyone, except the only guy I don't regret.
Trey...
With all the other women, I knew what they were. They were temporary. They were pills, they were bottles, they took away all the pain, and numbed the awful memories that wore down my ragged, wasted heart. Until I met Harley. She's the only girl I ever missed when she walked away. But now she's back in my life, every day, and there are no guarantees for us, especially since I don't know how to tell her my secrets. What happened to my family. All I know is she's the closest I've ever come to something real, and I want to feel every second of it.
How can you love with no regrets when regret is all you know?

November 21, 2013

Review:

A steamy story about sex, power, blackmail, and love. I LOVE IT! These things are what make the movie. It was quite entertaining to read about a girl that was going to SLAA and was a virgin and she falls for a guy that has a thing for cougars and MILFs. It was a nice twist in the romance stories. Two people trying to fight their past to only be brought together in this peculiar environment. I was able to feel the emotions the author was wanting to portray through the characters. I laughed with them and I balled my eyes out. I was touched by this book. I look forward to finishing the series and reading others by her.

Review:

Amber's personality is so cute! She is your typical girl. And she doesn't think about what her words sometimes does to the opposite sex. I love how she is career driven and at such a young age. This is how must woman are nowadays! Josh is the ultimate laid back boy. Their love was such a true romance. It is what everyone wishes they could find. Yes, they have their ups and downs but it isn't anything that couldn't be solved. I am so happy with how Amber's story played out.
Sabrina Lacey has done it again!

Review:

First series I read by Sabrina Lacey and I was hooked!!
I love her writing technique.
I was laughing my butt off and then had tears pouring down my cheeks.
I felt like I was actually the character and was feeling all of her emotions as if they were my own.
I loved how she would write Jessica's thoughts out. Even the most random of things...like when your mind is thinking of one thing and suddenly you see a squirrel. LOVE IT!
I am definitely hooked on Sabrina and her books! I am looking forward to other things she writes!

Review:

I have fallen in love with Sabrina Lacey!
Ever since I have read I Love My Break Up, I have become obsessed!
Her stories are so funny and you can relate on a personal level.
In I Love My Secret, I can't say that I have ever had feelings for a married man, but I have known what it is like to be the other woman (and not know). It is a horrible feeling!! You do everything for that person and when the feelings aren't returned 100% for feel like less of a person.
I totally dig Nicole's passion for art and her attitude. She has had it rough and she doesn't take no one's shit!
I'm excited to learn where her story will go!

I LOVE you Sabrina! Keep on writing!

Book Two: I Love My Hope

Synopsis:

I've left obsession by running from Michael, only to find him chasing me, now.
There's a new man Amber's introduced me to...and he's incredible. Too good to be true, maybe. It's been so long since I opened my heart up to hope... to something real.
Mark is visiting from San Francisco... here alone after being rejected by some girl he met, his last trip to New York. Little do I know, I know her... I know her very, very well.

December 10, 2013

Review:

What can I say..Sabrina Lacey has done it again! I feel a little bad that she took a while to write this part and I read it in no time at all. I feel like I should have savored it for a bit longer. I'm glad that Nicole is learning how to cope with her feelings for Michael. Ready to see how see will react to Mark. I love Nicole's personality. She comes off like she just don't give a flip but on the inside she really does. Ready for part 3!!

Book Three: I Love My Chance

Synopsis:

I've only precious little time left with Mark. He's so wonderful and he makes me feel safe. Like I've always wanted to feel, and like I never did in my when I was growing up. Soon he has to fly back home, back to over three thousand miles away from me.
This day is all I have...
I have a hard decision ahead of me. It will be the hardest decision I've ever had to make.
Because I did not imagine what's about to happen. How could I? And I did not imagine this man I met in a bar on a rescue mission, would be my chance at real happiness.
January 4, 2014

Review:

OMG! That is all I can say! I'm happy, sad, furious, and whole lot of other emotions right now. I can't believe what I just read!! I absolutely hate the cliffhanger! I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!! I also can't believe how Jessica is acting towards the whole Mark and Nicole situation. I was really wanting them to work out, but now that is all ruined. Especially after that little bomb that was dropped in Nicole's lap at the end. I have a feeling Jessica is going to realize what type of friend she has been being in the fourth book. How can she even act like that? Yes, Mark was her godsend, but she sent him away and met Chris. Why can't she let Mark work that same magic for Nicole? Nicole needs it far more than Jessica ever did. UGH!!! Sabrina you better hurry up with the fourth book so I can find out what happens!! I need to know how the show will go, who Nicole ends up with, and how the friendship turns out. It is all too much!

Cassandra Clare: City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, and City of Lost Souls

Cassandra Clare

Series: The Mortal Instruments

Book One: City of Bones

Synopsis:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

April 2, 2009

Review:

This is the first book I purchased when I received my Kindle and I absolutely loved it. I have actually read it twice now ( I had to refresh my memory when the movie came out). I feel that this is one of those series that you will be able to read over and over again. I know I will (especially if they continue the movie series). The characters were well thought out and had great chemistry. You were excited to know how everything was going to turn out. I'm not going to lie, I had a hard time reading it at first but that was mostly because of some of the terms that were used in the book. I had to keep stopping and re-reading so I could understand what they were trying to say. With that said, it is a series that I loved and could not put down. I read the entire series in a week (if not less).

Book Two: City of Ashes

Synopsis:

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go -- especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil -- and also her father.
To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings -- and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

March 14, 2009

Review:

Great continuation from the first book. Most people are skeptical on sequels but Cassandra Clare did an amazing job on this book. Everything is coming together nicely and could not ask for a series that I love more!

Book Three: City of Glass

Synopsis:

To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters—never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family’s past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he’s willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City—whatever the cost?

February 14, 2009

Review:

I found some information in this book a little "omg! I totally knew that was going to happen!", but it still made the book. I love how well Cassandra describes the City of Glass. It's like I can imagine myself being there. The books just keep getting better the further you get into the series.

Book Four: City of Fallen Angels

Synopsis:

The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She’s training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all—she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.
But nothing comes without a price.
Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary’s best friend, Simon, can’t help her—his mother just found out that he’s a vampire, and now he’s homeless. When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Review:

Drama. Romance. And danger. Enough said! Just when you think that things are finally going to be falling into place; something else happens. Isn't that how life always seems to be?

Book Five: City of Lost Souls

Synopsis:

The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon.
What price is too high to pay, even for love? When Jace and Clary meet again, Clary is horrified to discover that the demon Lilith’s magic has bound her beloved Jace together with her evil brother Sebastian, and that Jace has become a servant of evil. The Clave is out to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. As Alec, Magnus, Simon, and Isabelle wheedle and bargain with Seelies, demons, and the merciless Iron Sisters to try to save Jace, Clary plays a dangerous game of her own. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost?
Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

Review:

I think in the synopsis it sums up a lot about the book and what it is about. Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. What are you willing to do to save the one you love and he is bond to the one you hate? We are getting close to the end of the series and things are starting to get so good. You keep turning the page trying to decide if you will like what you will find on the next page or you will throw the book in anger. I have felt all the emotions of these characters from the beginning and they are growing along with them. I am so ready for the sixth book to finally make an appearance so we will know if we get the happily ever after that everyone deserves. *keeping fingers crossed*

Review:

Got to love a cougar (if that's what we are calling her). Love the sexual tension between the two characters. She has to decide if her job is worth losing over an attraction that may just be that, lust. Great chemistry with the characters, main and the team. Thoroughly enjoyed this book from page one to the last.

Professional hockey player Rob D'Amico is confused when he's chosen to take part in a reading program for inner-city students. While athletes are role models, he tends toward the gregarious and playful side, rather than a studious bent.

When Rob visits Alaina's class for the first time, the kids welcome him with open arms, despite the lack of even the basic supplies for their education. He takes it upon himself to get the students what they need, sweeping Alaina up in the excitement.
As time goes by and she learns more about Rob, Alaina finds her heart opening to him. Is it possible her soul mate could be found in a world so different from her own? As for Rob, the last person he thought he'd find love with was an elementary school teacher wearing clothes permanently stained with finger paint. But when you're playing for keeps, sometimes you have to get a little dirty.

Casey McMillin: Three Years Later and Seeing Clearly

Casey McMillin

Series: In Too Deep

Book One: Three Years Later

Synopsis:

The last thing Rachel Coleman wanted to do the summer before her senior year was go on a family vacation to Disneyland. The first thing she did when she got there, however, was run headlong into her happily ever after. Unfortunately for her, the guy was way out of her league.
Collin Blake, along with the rest of his college swim team, was just visiting Los Angeles for a few days. It was something the U Cal swimmers did every year. Falling in love definitely wasn't on his list things to do while he was there.
Is love at first sight even possible?
Collin and Rachel thought so. They had an instant connection... right up to the point when Rachel disappeared.
Can they pick up where they left off even though it’s... Three Years Later

April 30, 2013

Review:

What are the chances in running into someone you feel an instant connection to while on vacation with your parents? And then seeing that person three years later and still have the same feelings? I loved the characters and the way their love story begin. Along with how it developed. I'm a sucker for happily ever afters and glad that this was one of those books. You don't always have to have all that extra drama to make a book good. This one was great the way it was!

Book Two: Seeing Clearly

Synopsis:

Gretchen McKay had a new job on TV's longest running soap opera. She had a lot riding on her career and falling in love would just be a distraction.
Joel Perrin had a different story. He was ready to fall in love… he just didn't want to fall in love with Gretchen.
Against better judgment, the pair keep finding themselves giving in to their undeniable chemistry. When their feelings for one another become overwhelming, they're faced with a choice...
Jump in or move on.

Review:

The second installment in the In Too Deep series that follows the story of Gretchen and Joel. A love that was destined from the beginning even though they wanted to fight it. Very magnetic. Very sweet! The only thing I did not like about this book was the way it ended. I'm assuming there will be an In Too Deep #3 that will focus on Emily and Ethan then also expand on the whole Joel and Gretchen situation. I really want to know what they are going to have and if they decide to get married before the baby is born.

Book Three: Second String

Synopsis:

Emily Roth gave her heart to Jeremy Salyer years ago. She was waiting patiently for Jeremy to return her affections while he was busy enjoying the fringe benefits of being a college football star. After a chance meeting with a swimmer named Ethan Erickson, she found herself faced with a choice between waiting for her childhood sweetheart or pursuing a new flame.
Ethan had money to burn and a bucket list that was begging for his attention. His sights were set on Olympic gold, and a relationship would only serve to slow him down. Emily's offer to be friends with benefits was just what he was looking for, until he realized it meant he'd have to compete for her attention.
Can Ethan convince Emily he's the only man she needs?
More importantly, is he capable of being that man?

Book Four: Mind the Gap

Synopsis:

Brit Nelson spent the last four years of college in Seattle, a city that nurtured her artistic abilities and freethinking spirit. She had recently discovered a love for music and was enjoying some local success with her band. As her college career was coming to a close, an opportunity to teach art in Los Angeles presented itself. This forced Brit to make a choice between staying comfortable or starting over.
Josh Rand was an ex-collegiate swimmer who had turned to MMA as a way to heal the scars left from a nasty divorce. His engineering career was really beginning to take off, and like Brit, he was contemplating a move to Los Angeles to pursue a new job opportunity.
The two had become acquainted through their mutual friends, but they rubbed each other the wrong way from the very start. Josh's logical, responsible attitude was the polar opposite of Brit’s hippie lifestyle, and he would have never pictured himself with someone like her. But everything changed the moment he heard her sing.

C. J. Roberts: Captive in the Dark, Seduced in the Dark, and Epilogue

C. J. Roberts

Series: The Dark Duet

Book One: Captive in the Dark

Synopsis:

Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.
Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

Review:

Is it weird that I wish I could be kidnapped by someone like Caleb? He is the epitome of "bad boy". This book is sadistic, sexual, and captivating. I couldn't put it down. I love the dark storyline with a little bit of romance mixed in. Ready to know where things lead!

Book Two: Seduced in the Dark

Synopsis:

What is the price of redemption?
Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.
The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.
Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?
Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?

January 23, 2013

Review:

Love that Caleb is trying to seek redemption for everything bad he has done in his past. Trying to make things better so he can be with Livvie. All the raw emotion between Caleb and Livvie. I laughed and cried right along with them.

Book Three: Epilogue

Synopsis:

I’m writing this because you begged. You know how I love the begging. In fact, you probably know too many things and know them far too well.
Who am I?
Well, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I was a whore in my youth, a killer since my adolescence, and a monster as a man. I am the man who kidnapped Livvie. I am the man who held her in a dark room for weeks. But, most importantly, I am the man she loves.
She loves me. It’s quite sick, isn’t it?
Of course, there’s more to our story than can be surmised in a few short sentences, but I’m at a loss for justifying my behavior back then. I assume if you’re reading this, I don’t need to make those justifications. You’ve already made your own.
You’re reading this because you want to know about the rest of the story. You want to know what happened that warm summer night in September of 2010, the night I met Livvie at The Paseo. It was the night my life changed all over again.
It didn’t happen exactly as Livvie said. She’s been very kind to me in the retelling of our story. The truth is far more…complicated.

Review:

The emotionally finale to the Dark Duet series from Caleb's point of view. It is nice to see that other side of the story. To know what he was thinking during that time. This entire series you have so many different reactions to the characters, but in the end you actually want them to be together. You are so happy when it finally happens! Absolutely loved this series and excited to see what else C. J. Roberts has to offer!

C. C. Hunter

Series: Shadow Falls

Book One: Turned at Dark
Book Two: Born at Midnight
Book Three: Awake at Dawn
Book Four: Taken at Dusk
Book Five: Whispers at Moonrise
Book Six: Saved at Sunrise
Book Seven: Chosen at Nightfall
Book Eight: Saved at Sunrise

Synopsis:

Independent and strong-willed Della Tsang did not believe in ghosts, until she sees her dead cousin in a dark alley. She did not believe in vampires, until she turns into one. Should she follow her vampire cousin's lead and walk away from everything she knows, or join Shadow Falls, a camp for special teens?

One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever.  Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren't just "troubled." Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.
Kylie's never felt normal, but surely she doesn't belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn't complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek's a half-fae who's determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin' hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn't be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.
Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…

From the moment Kylie Galen arrived at Shadow Falls Camp, she's had one burning question: What am I? Surrounded by vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, fairies and witches, Kylie longs to figure out her own supernatural identity…and what her burgeoning powers mean. And now she'll need them more than ever, because she's being haunted by a new spirit who insists that someone Kylie knows—and loves—will die before the end of the summer. If only she only knew who she was supposed to save. And how…
But giving Kylie the most trouble is her aching heart. Gorgeous werewolf Lucas left camp with another girl, but he's still visiting Kylie in her dreams.  And Derek, a sexy half Fae who's always been there for her when she needed him, is pushing to get more serious—and growing impatient, especially when Lucas returns. Kylie knows she needs to decide between the boys, and it's tearing her up inside.
Yet romance will have to wait, because something from the dark side of the supernatural world is hiding in Shadow Falls. It's about to threaten everything she holds dear…and bring her closer to her destiny.

Kylie Galen wants the truth so badly she can taste it. The truth about who her real family is, the truth about which boy she’s meant to be with—and the truth about what her emerging powers mean.  But she’s about to discover that some secrets can change your life forever…and not always for the better.

Just when she and Lucas are finally getting close, she learns that his pack has forbidden them from being together.  Was it a mistake to pick him over Derek? And it’s not just romance troubling Kylie. An amnesia-stricken ghost is haunting her, delivering the frightful warning, someone lives and someone dies. As Kylie races to unravel the mystery and protect those she loves, she finally unlocks the truth about her supernatural identity, which is far different—and more astonishing—than she ever imagined.

Even at a camp for supernatural teens, Kylie Galen has never been normal. Not only can she see ghosts, but she doesn’t seem to belong to any one species—she exhibits traits from them all. As Kylie struggles to unlock the secrets of her identity, she begins to worry that Lucas will never be able to accept her for what she is, and what she isn’t…a werewolf.  With his pack standing in their way, Kylie finds herself turning more and more to Derek, the only person in her life who’s willing to accept the impossible.

As if life isn’t hard enough, she starts getting visits from the ghost of Holiday, her closest confidante.  Trouble is, Holiday isn’t dead…not yet anyway.  Now Kylie must race to save one of her own from an unseen danger before it’s too late—all while trying to stop her relationship with Lucas from slipping away forever.   In a world of constant confusion, there’s only one thing Kylie knows for sure.  Change is inevitable and all things must come to an end…maybe even her time at Shadow Falls.

When Kylie Galen entered Shadow Falls Camp, she left her old life behind forever and discovered a world more magical than she ever imagined. A place where you’re two best friends can be a witch and a vampire…and where love doesn’t happen the way you’d expect.
When Kylie’s most powerful enemy returns to destroy her once and for all, there’s only one way to stop him—to step into her full powers and make a stunning transformation that will amaze everyone around her.  But her journey won’t be complete until she makes one final choice…which guy to love.  Should she choose to the werewolf who broke her heart but will give anything to win her back, or the half-fae who ran from their attraction before they had a chance?  Everything she’s learned at Shadow Falls has been preparing her for this moment—when her fate will be revealed and her heart claimed forever.

Nestled deep in the woods, Shadow Falls is a secret camp where teens with supernatural powers learn to harness their abilities and live in the normal world.  But Shadow Falls is facing a problem that could finally expose them to the rest of the world.  Humans are showing up dead, and rogue vampires may be to blame.
Camp resident Della Tsang, who’s still coming into her own vampire powers, is assigned to help find those responsible. If she succeeds, maybe she’ll even land her dream job: working for the F.R.U., the enforcers of the supernatural world.  But when she sees that her new partner is a hunky shapeshifter, things get complicated.  Steve, too gorgeous to be trusted and capable of seeing through her tough-as-nails exterior, knows just how to get under her skin.  And only hours into the mission, Della realizes rogue vampires aren’t the only threat she’s facing. If she’s ever going to complete her assignment, she’ll need his help…but learning to trust him will be her hardest challenge yet.

An amazing young adult paranormal series. Loved all the characters. Loved the storyline. Easy to follow and easy to get sucked into. It had romance, suspense, and drama. Three of the biggest things that make a book. Couldn't ask for anything better!

Review:

Swoon worthy! Torrin sounds amazing! A very touching storyline. I could feel the emotions that were trying to be portrayed by the characters. I laughed and cried with them. I loved how it expresses the main characters need to help her family out in troubling times. It seems nowadays, many people don't know how to step up to take responsibility, but she did. Even though she did something she wasn't happy about doing and it embarrassed her; she put all that aside so she could survive. Looking forward to more by Brooklyn Skye!

This story had a great plot line and it kept me guessing. I am excited to see where this romance will end up.

Book Three: Because You Must Learn
Book Four: Because You Haunt Me
Book Five: Because I Said So
Book Six: Because You Torment Me
Book Seven: Because I Need To
Book Eight: Because I Am Yours

Synopsis:

It starts with that first look, when you know you have to have him… Francesca Arno has been commissioned to create a grand centerpiece painting for the lobby of Ian Noble’s new skyscraper. It’s at a cocktail party in her honor that she first meets him—and the attraction is immediate for Francesca. It’s also bewildering. She’s not used to such a wholesale sexual response to a stranger. Enigmatic, darkly intense, with a commanding presence, Ian completely unnerves her. And she likes it.

For Ian, she’s the kind of woman he can’t resist—one that comes all too rarely: a true innocent. But he can sense in her a desire to open up, to experiment, to give herself to the fantasies of a man in control. The first kiss, the first caress, the first challenge for a woman who craves what she’s never had—a man who gets what he wants.

A heated argument between Francesca and Ian leaves the impetuous young woman alone again, and free to do whatever she chooses, and with whomever she desires. She’s not about to answer to any one man—especially Ian. Until he catches her. As he takes her to his penthouse, the tension is incendiary. One thing is clear for both of them. Francesca must be punished.

Outraged and unbearably excited, the naïve Francesca loses whatever control she had. After all, Ian is too dominant a man to fight off. She did disobey him. She does deserve it. Francesca just never realized how much she wanted it. But when Ian discovers how naïve Francesca really is, he wonders if taking advantage of such innocence is going too far, even for him.

Knowing just how innocent Francesca is, Ian finds himself struggling with whether or not to pursue her. But he has to have her. Because when it comes to this particular obsession, desire trumps all caution.

Unnerved by her own longings, Francesca avoids Ian until he confronts her with a tantalizing proposition: a purely physical relationship—her reward, alluring, forbidden pleasure. It may be a mistake, but her need for Ian can’t be denied. Suddenly she’s swept away to Paris, overwhelmed by the beauty of the city, by the irresistible man at her side, Francesca abandons all reservations, and finally opens herself up to the man who has haunted her fantasies.

From a luxury private jet to a daring tryst in a public museum to the intimacy of a luxury hotel, Ian and Francesca come together wherever the spark is ignited. But when Francesca disappears for a morning alone, she discovers an unexpected new shade to Ian’s character. Is it anger, jealousy, or something else entirely?

Stunned by the degree of Ian’s reaction, Francesca wonders why his whole life is ruled by discipline, order, and restraint. Only during passion does he show her the captivating depths of his soul. She’s willing to submit to desire, but having every move controlled is something she can never accept. Then Francesca begins to discover what it is that makes a man like Ian do the things he does…

An outing in Paris, a luxury car, a dangerous rain-slicked street—and Francesca eagerly takes the wheel sending her and Ian spinning deliriously out of control. The risk would frighten most women. Not Francesca. It’s arousing. A moment of le petit morte that steers her relationship with Ian into a daring new direction.

Scorched by the depths of Francesca’s fresh, generous response to him, Ian begins to question his ability to keep his distance from the vibrant beauty. She’s like fire in his blood, striking a cord in him unlike any other woman, and every time he touches her, his need for total possession only mounts…

Francesca takes the reins, blossoming under Ian’s tutelage and leading to a bold act of rebellion and sexual empowerment—one that sends Ian closer to the edge.

As far as Ian’s concerned, Francesca’s gone too far. It’s not just her flirtation with disaster, but her flagrant defiance and an agenda to torment him until he’s seeing red with need and desire. He will see the willful young woman submit, but when she does, Ian finds himself losing all of his carefully guarded control and leaping into the consuming flames with the woman he can’t live without.

After time away, Ian pursues Francesca once again. She can't resist him, despite his secrecy.... As their relationship deepens, Ian begins to take pleasure in teaching her his strengths while she tempts him with the beauty of spontaneity and the rush of letting go of control. And for a while, they do let go…

It’s intoxicating and it’s exhilarating as they indulge themselves in the sweet, addictive fruit of passion. But as Francesca knows, when pleasure gets this intense, the quick burn-out can be devastating. For Ian’s secrets have tested Francesca yet again, leaving her to despair that the one man with whom she has become obsessed is the one man she may never really have. . .

From the moment Ian and Francesca first met, the attraction was mutual—a purely, exquisitely physical charge that ignited between them. It couldn’t be ignored—only indulged, evolving into a bond of pleasurable subjugation. But Francesca’s open sensuality left her wanting more. Getting it from a man as mysterious and resolute as Ian was a challenge she never anticipated.

Francesca knows there's only one way for them to move forward—to follow Ian to London and show him that she doesn't want him to suffer alone. But when Ian's past and inner torment is revealed, he experiences a nearly unbearable volcanic mix of emotions for the woman who has dared to love him, despite his inner demons. After exposing Francesca to the limits of his anguish, he wonders if he's lost her forever. Can he bend enough to compromise to true intimacy...and something called love?

Review:

This review is the book as a whole, not each individual book.
One of the hottest erotic books I have read to date! I had to keep turning the pages. Ending was a little disappointing, but everything leading up to it was amazing. I love all the hot scenes between the characters. Excited to see what else this author has to offer. Look forwarding to reading more of your work!
